The Royal Academy of Dance is a leading international dance examination board specialising in classical ballet. All RAD-qualified teachers have to undergo approved training to become certified by the Academy.
The graded examination RAD syllabus starts at Pre- Primary progressing to the Advanced Level. Each level builds on the previous one incorporating classical ballet technique, free movement and character dance. We find working towards examinations gives students, even the younger ones, something to work towards and a great sense of achievement and progress.

All students from Pre-Primary (5 years plus) have the opportunity to take their annual RAD examination and to receive their formal RAD certificate of progress. To successfully participate in RAD examinations your child should attend class twice a week.
Grade 1-5 examinations consist of classical ballet movements with a classical solo and character dance taught from the RAD syllabus throughout the year. From Intermediate Foundation pointe shoes are introduced.
